Becca Thorpe

Becca moved to the west coast of Scotland in 2020 from South Yorkshire where she left her job working in an architectural practice. Since becoming a full time Artist, Becca has fully emersed herself in her vocation, absorbing the local scenery and striving to depict the natural beauty of rural Scotland.

Now residing in the Scottish Borders, Becca is using her skill of capturing transient light in her oil paintings and is enjoying exploring this area of Scotland, whilst studying the change in landscape.

“My aim is to constantly develop my practice, creating pieces of work that are emotive to the viewer.”

Becca’s studio is based near Kelso and her work is currently being displayed in the following galleries;

The Atelier Gallery (Edinburgh)

Green’s and Blue’s Gallery (North Berwick)

Atholl Galley (Dunkeld)

The Perthshire Gallery (Pitlochry)

“I have followed Becca’s progress in her painting journey for some years now. From those initial tentative steps in understanding the disciplines of drawing and painting technique, she has now reached a point where the work here demonstrates a very special maturity and recognisable individual style. Her observational skill and appreciation of tonal value and textures in some stunning recent examples of her work.

I am sure there will be further fascinating developments in her output as she hones her skills in the coming months and years. I wish her well in this exciting period in her career”
